Spring Meet-Ups At StepSpace
The first few months of 2019 have been a busy time at StepSpace as we continue to invite experts from a diverse range of tech fields to avail of our fantastic communal area for events.
In February, OWASP’s monthly session was held at StepSpace for the first time and the talk was given by Uleska, a leading Belfast based software security company.
It explored some of the major security problems which automated tools can completely miss. Using the industry standard OWASP ASVS (Advanced Security Verification Standard) as a reference, they shed light on the percentage coverage of common tools, and how massive gaps can appear in typical security testing programs.
Next up Patrick Walker, director of software engineering at Cynash INC, organised for the Google Developers Group on Kubernetes training to come to StepSpace.
This training event was for anyone who wanted to get started with Kubernetes but didn’t know where to begin. The live session was followed up with free access to more labs which participants could finish at home.
On International Woman’s Day, PA Consulting hosted an event organised by office manager, Nicola Morrison. The guest speaker was Northern Irish broadcaster and journalist Claire McCollum, who gave an interesting talk about her career to date, what it means to be a mum and being a daughter to parents with care requirements.
Keep an eye out for more events coming up soon at StepSpace.
